Larry and Re Hart created Spiced Rye in 2018, after relocating to the Pacific NW, from the Central Coast of California, where they were founding members of the band “3 for the Road.” Leaving a bandmate behind, Larry and Re found themselves needing to reinvent their sound, as a duo. Re’s unique vocals have been described, by many, as having a tone that reminds people of Stevie Nicks, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, and Margo Timmins, as well as many others. Along with lead vocals, Re plays rhythm guitar, while Larry plays rhythm and lead.

Spiced Rye has well over 70 original songs with what is best described as an Americana/Singer Songwriter sound, but their love for all music has created a vast list of rendition covers, across many genres... from Matchbox Twenty to Johnny Cash, Foo Fighters to Nina Simone, Taylor Swift to Fleetwood Mac, Pearl Jam to Miranda Lambert… you get the idea.

Some of our performance highlights include opening for the Dusty 45s, performing at the City of Ellensburg Summer Concert Series, Yakima Franklin Park Summer Sunset Concert Series, Ellensburg Winterhop Brewfest, and venues in Oregon, California and Montana. We can be found, most regularly, playing wineries, brew pubs, restaurants, and private parties all around the Pacific NW!​
